German labor law leader KLIEMT.HR Avocats uses BRYTER`s legal technology to create a holistic mindset and transform its market presence both internally and externally: client requirements become clearer through data-driven analytics, so services can be delivered with an enhanced value proposition. I identified with the long hours that lawyers (especially younger ones) devote to repetitive tasks that have little value but are at the same time necessary to ensure the smooth running of projects. I was also aware of the many inefficient processes that abound in the legal world, which, interestingly, is one of the sectors that takes the longest to evolve digitally. I was fascinated to discover how legal automation could improve lawyers` processes, client relationships and lawyers` quality of life when time is free to work on higher value-added strategic tasks. It is no secret that the delivery of legal services is changing. Leading international law firms have understood the need to address challenges and disrupt digitalization and technological solutions based on legal technology. Ashurst believes that the best solutions for customers can only be found by working with them. The Ashurst team assesses their needs for tailored legal advice and takes their excellent work with the latest legal technologies to a new level. Christopher Georgiou is a partner and head of the global Ashurst Advance division, the firm`s integrated « NewLaw » offering focused on the three core areas of legal advisory innovation: resources, processes and technology. Michael Grupp, CEO of BRYTER, added: « We are delighted to be working with Linklaters to help the company quickly develop and launch customer-centric applications.

Law firms like Linklaters are at the forefront of client support precisely because they put the experience of their clients and lawyers at the center of their actions and try to make the delivery of legal services easier and faster. « So, do you really want to invest in a long-term, no-code solution that most people still don`t adopt or feel comfortable with, and where the real challenge is to align and standardize your company`s legal processes into some sort of decision tree or process map? Some of these assessed needs form the basis of use cases tailored to specific legal issues by experienced Ashurst lawyers. At the first Ashurst Legal Hackathon in Frankfurt in May 2019, students were invited to design, program, develop and present a prototype of digital products for the use cases assigned with BRYTER. Linklaters announced that it has partnered with the brYTER codeless automation system on several projects as competition for market share in this legal technology segment continues to intensify, with expanding competitors and new entrants all trying to make a difference. Ashurst Advance is the « NewLaw » division focused on innovation and transformation of legal services, and legal technology and digitization are at the heart of the services offered. An excellent team of technology experts and programmers uses cutting-edge technologies in their day-to-day work, such as contract automation, document review, supported by machine learning, document creation software or virtual platforms for more efficient collaboration. Today, 2 years later, after a $60 million funding cycle and exponential growth, I couldn`t be happier to have made that decision. I have been involved in a variety of projects and experienced rapid growth both personally and professionally – at a pace that only a hyper-growing start-up can offer. I am now proud to lead BRYTER`s expansion in the Iberian Peninsula and Latin America. « We will regularly develop these tools, » adds Hoffmann-Remy. « This will help them reduce legal costs and increase their efficiency. On the other hand, our firm will free up time for non-commodity and high-expertise activities, which will play on our strengths. As part of its ongoing efforts to shape the legal market of the future, the firm has launched other initiatives that include document automation, data and contract analytics, artificial intelligence, and automated client communications, among others. The legal sector in Germany is still one of the last sectors to be affected by the digital disruption. Legal services, as well as laws, have changed little, and there is little incentive for the basic system to do so. Technology is changing the way legal services can be provided to clients.

Ashurst believes that legal technology and digitalisation will be at the heart of the future legal model and has therefore positioned technology at the heart of our strategy. One of the things I enjoyed most about the event was the complete diversity of all the attendees. While most had a legal background, there was also a safe space for participants like me who had a background in management/technology and had no idea about the law.
