I founded the firm because there was a need for legal advice for small businesses and not-for-profit organizations. There has been a historical discrepancy that makes the process of seeking legal advice scary or intimidating, which should not exist and is a barrier for some small businesses and not-for-profit organizations. Canvas Legal is not intended to be « your father`s law firm »; It aims to provide innovative and accessible legal services to clients who are just that – innovative and accessible. The use of visual thinking for legal documents helps to promote a better understanding of the law, legal information and contractual obligations! Although the Canvas LID is not intended to replace contracts or other legal guidelines, it will be of great help! It`s also a great tool for users of legal documents to get their legal advisors to think more visually about the law, contracts, legal information, and policies. Visual thinking applied to legal information and contracts has several advantages. It helps to design legal documents that are easier to read, faster to understand and more attractive (duh!!) It increases information delivery, retention, and compliance. It speeds up negotiation, reduces misunderstandings and increases clarity. I believe the positive momentum in Detroit will continue and I hope that the city will not lose its character, its true courage and what differentiates Detroit from Chicago or New York. I think a lot of people forget that there were countless existing businesses in the city that maintained their operations during the economic downturn. I would like to see additional support for existing businesses that have stood the test of time as they continue to welcome new businesses, using the overall increase in revenue to ensure that infrastructure and community improvements are possible and underway.
